Update: Petition made by fans to keep the group going. At the time of writing this (September 2nd) it has over 600 signatures.

Sakura Gakuin just celebrated the graduation of 4 their members (including Kano) and the end of the 2019-2020 Nendo. With that, they announced that the 2020-2021 Nendo will act as the 10th anniversary of Sakura Gakuin and will have no new transfer-ins, as well as that at the end of it, on August 31st, 2021, the project will close down.

BABYMETAL started out as a sub-unit of Sakura Gakuin, but began playing their own shows in 2012, and then became its own thing after Suzuka graduated in 2013. Yui and Moa continued performing for both groups until their graduation from Sakura Gakuin in 2015. Many staff members also came over from Sakura Gakuin, such as choreographer Mikiko, and also Avengers Momoko and Kano.

Furthermore, all 4 2019 Nendo Graduates profiles have been removed from the Amuse website. They are now only listed on @onefive’s artist profile. This is similar to what happened with BABYMETAL’s members in 2018-2019.

Thank you for your continued support of Sakura Gakuin. With “The Road to Graduation 2019 Final – Sakura Gakuin 2019 Graduation” on August 30th, the four third-year middle school students, Hanano Fujihira Hanano, Sohaka Yoshida, Ohshin Aritomo and Moeho Mori, were able to successfully graduate from Sakura Gakuin with warm applause and cheers from everyone.
Thank you very much for all the people who came to watch the ceremony and for your continuous support.
From here, the four graduates will go on to pursue their new dreams.

We would also like to make an important announcement from Sakura Gakuin for the 2020 school year.
Thanks to your support, in April this year we celebrated the 10th anniversary of the school’s opening in April 2010.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank you once again for all the support we have received from the parents and everyone involved.
Sakura Gakuin has produced a total of 28 graduates over the past 10 years, with each year’s activities tailored to the individuality of the students.
On the occasion of our 10th anniversary, all of us at the staff office have been looking back on the history of Sakura Gakuin and considering the changes in the environment surrounding the students at this sensitive time and the recent situation, we have been thinking about the future activities of Sakura Gakuin and the way of training our students.
As a result, we have come to the conclusion that in order to achieve the goal we have had since the establishment of Sakura Gakuin, “Our students will realize their dreams and grow into super ladies who can play an active role in various fields.“, we believe that it is necessary to strengthen the development of each individual student and focus on the activities of each individual. To achieve this, we have decided to close the curtain on the current activities of “Sakura Gakuin” as a limited growth unit on August 31st, 2021.

The period of activity of Sakura Gakuin in 2020 will be from September 1st, 2020 to August 31st, 2021, and will consist of Shiratori Sana, Nonaka Kokona, Tanaka Miku, Yagi Miki, Sato Neo, Todaka Miko, Nozaki Yume, and Kimura Sakia.
It will act as the 10th anniversary, and as the culmination of Sakura Gakuin, we will run through this last year valuing the tradition and style built by the 28 graduates.

Lastly, to the fukeis and all those concerned, we would like to thank you all for the warm support and encouragement you have given us since our establishment.
