This is the 2nd reschedule, as it was originally supposed to be on March 20th and 21st of this year, but then it was moved to January 10th and 11th, 2021.
It is now scheduled for April 9th and 10th, 2022. BABYMETAL was part of the lineup of both the original date and the first reschedule, but they say that they have not determined yet if they will perform for this latest one. It appears at this time that only Slipknot are confirmed.
The original reschedule was doubted by many fans initially due to the fact it would be mid-winter which is not a usual time for festivals, likewise that it did not seem that restrictions in Japan would be lifted by then.
For those that want to go to the festival, tickets will remain valid, but for those that don’t, KNOTFEST JAPAN is offering refunds to those that had purchased tickets between Wednesday, December 2nd, 2020 at 10 AM to Tuesday, January 12th, 2021 at 11:59 PM.
Overseas customers that have ordered tickets from the Lawson Ticket and eplus English ticket sites will be sent an email (to the address registered at the time of purchase) explaining refund procedure. Refunds will be made to the credit card you used for your original purchase. Do note it may take some time.

As a result of the ongoing situation with the coronavirus mandates in Japan and around the world, after thorough discussions with KNOTFEST organizers & Slipknot’s concern for the safety of the fans, artists, staff and everyone involved, we regretfully announce the postponement of KNOTFEST JAPAN 2020 scheduled for January 10th 2021 and January 11th 2021 at Makuhari Messe.
We understand a second postponement is difficult news. Slipknot, their management, and our entire staff sincerely apologize for any inconveniences this has caused the fans that have been looking forward to the event.
