Original announcement with fan participation link

Last week I reported on this being possible, but now it is confirmed!

For those unaware, “SONGS OF TOKYO” is a program produced by NHK WORLD with the idea of showcasing Japanese culture ahead of the Tokyo Olympics. The event will be broadcast over 4 days: October 24th, 25th, 31st and November 1st. Specific artist schedules will be announced at a later date.

The show is on NHK World (free online) and has subtitles.

Full info below.

We know from the original source looking for fans willing to participate that it seems that BABYMETAL’s part will be recorded on Sunday, October 11th at some time from 6 PM to 10 PM (JST).

You can watch the 3 previous shows, from Suzuki Masayuki, BISH, and milet, on the Songs of Tokyo page on the NHK website. The program is a mix of Q&A’s, watching messages from fans, and performances.

Fans had been asked to apply for a chance to talk about their passion for BABYMETAL, among other things, and see the reactions from the band itself!

BABYMETAL has already played in this venue back in 2013 (3 times!) for “NHK G MUSIC JAPAN” in January, “NHK G MUSIC JAPAN ANNEX Summer 2013” in June, and finally “LEGEND 1999 (YUIMETAL & MOAMETAL Seitansai)” that same month.
