Those who have been paying attention might remember that on FOX DAY (April 1st) of this year, BABYMETAL had shared a LEGEND MAP which included, among other things, an announcement for a “Special Arena Show in Japan” for January 2026. Well, the full announcement is here!
BABYMETAL will be performing 2 shows at Saitama Super Arena (near Tokyo, Japan) on the weekend of January 10th & 11th, 2026. Long time BABYMETAL fans will recall how incredible previous “LEGEND” shows have been, especially those that hold the title of the latest album. For LEGEND – METAL RESISTANCE in 2016 BABYMETAL performed their largest shows at the Tokyo Dome, with 55.000 fans attending each night (still the largest BABYMETAL shows to date). There, they performed every song from both their released albums (at the time), BABYMETAL & METAL RESISTANCE, except for the international-exclusive “From Dusk Till Dawn”. Many years later, they performed LEGEND – METAL GALAXY for 2 nights in 2020, this time at Makuhari Messe, where they performed the entire METAL GALAXY album (except for the Japan-exclusive ↑↓←→BBAB, which they have never performed live) over both nights, with a few songs from their previous 2 albums sprinkled in. But not just that, it also featured all 3 Avengers, coming out to perform for different songs, as well as both the “EAST” and “WEST” Kami Bands.
Safe to say, those attending both nights can probably expect to hear all 10 of the METAL FORTH songs live, with probably a mix of classics from the previous 3 albums (maybe something from THE OTHER ONE too?).
There are 5 ticket types announced for the show: standing and seating tickets, both as regular and “CHO” (aka VIP) versions, and a special “GEN Z” ticket. What’s special about it is one has to be maximum 22 years old (as of March 31st, 2026) to apply (sadly, no international application allowed), and it costs 50% less than the regular tickets, at ¥10,000 (about 68 USD at the moment). There are also 6 lotteries that have been announced, 2 of which allow international applications. The first one is, of course, only for THE ONE 2025 members, and it opens registrations in a couple of hours. The other is open to all, and registration starts on September 6th. As a reminder, these are lotteries, so there is a chance to win or lose, there is no guarantee of getting a ticket. To increase chances of winning, becoming a THE ONE 2025 member and having 2 chances to get tickets (both lotteries) makes sense if you really want to go.
